Ricketts Farm Service is a full-service, family-owned independent agricultural retail business serving a large geography in North Missouri. With locations throughout the heart of our state, we take great pride in our ability to provide exceptional service to our farmer-customers. In May of 1972, Kim and Linda Ricketts purchased the Purina Check-R-Board Store just west of Salisbury, Missouri. It was a pivotal decision. At the time, Kim was working as a sales representative for Ralston Purina in Northeast Missouri, while Linda taught second grade. The young couple called Macon, Missouri home. Yet, the opportunity to put down roots in Salisbury and operate their own business was too compelling to pass up.
Within a year, Kim and Linda welcomed twins into their growing family. Through hard work, a willingness to take risks, and the loyalty of their customers, they built a thriving business in Salisbury. That success led to further growth, with expansions to Cairo in 1987, Dalton in 1993, and Shelbina in 1995.
In 1999, after several years as a sales representative for American Cyanamid, Seth joined the family business as manager of the Cairo location. He purchased the business from his parents in 2004. Under Seth’s leadership, the company continued to grow, adding new locations in Marshall (2018), Lexington (2019), and Monroe City (2020).
Much has changed since the business first opened its doors in 1972, but its mission remains the same: to help farm families in north Missouri succeed by delivering unmatched service, quality products, innovative technology, and deep agricultural knowledge to support both row crop and livestock operations.
